Hot Spiced Apple Punch for Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the fifth of November. Gunpowder, treason and plot.

It’s bonfire night on Monday!! It’s one of my favourite days of the year, but sadly I won’t be in England to celebrate and watch all the fireworks. However, I can share a warming recipe for those who’ll be standing out in the cold lighting the bonfires and watching the displays over the weekend and on Monday night. Continue reading

The Wizarding World in London // The House of MinaLima

I’ve been having a crazy month of Harry Potter bookings, so I’ve been totally in the wizarding mood to write this post this week. I’ve managed to get tickets for ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ in London next year, booked into the Harry Potter WB studio tour (again….see my original visit here) to catch up on the new additions and to see it all decked out for Christmas in December, and managed to get tickets for the ‘A History of Magic’ exhibit at the British Library that’s on from now until the end of February. This all makes me so happy.

Another fabulous Harry Potter style trip you can make in London is to the House of MinaLima. Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima are the graphic design duo MinaLima, and they are the brains and talent behind all the graphic art elements of the ‘Harry Potter’ films and the spin-off film ‘Fantastic Beasts (And Where to Find Them)’. Tea & Cake in Cambridge

I use the term ‘tea and cake’ broadly here. What I actually mean is… a delicious cup of something plus some fabulous sweet treats to go alongside.

Last week was ‘Afternoon Tea Week’ in the UK (perhaps elsewhere too?) and I’ve been reading many a post on grand afternoon teas around the country serving up infinite finger sandwiches, scones and cakes on a towering stand alongside endless cups of tea. But, what about the not-so-grand affair of a mid-afternoon (or mid-morning even) cup of tea with a slice of cake. This is the everyday kind of afternoon tea that I’m almost certain everyone partakes in.

A Slice of Christmas // Festive British-Peruvian Feasts in London

a-slice-of-christmas // A Slice of Peru

Festive party season is upon us and everyone is searching for that perfect place for their work/friends Christmas dinner. If you fancy something a little different then booking a Peruvian fusion Christmas menu could be just what you need.

At first glance they may not seem Christmassy in a traditional British sense of the word but by using a combination of great British and Peruvian ingredients they truly make a feast. And after all, isn’t that what food at Christmas is all about? Sharing it family style and feasting to celebrate the wintertime. It all sounds delicious to me.

Peruvian food is also a fab option if you have a vegetarian in your party as the cuisine has so many options to choose from. Gluten free diets are also catered to as well!

I’ve not tried any of these specific menus (they are just suggestions for you), but I have chosen restaurants that I have actually visited over the last few years, so that I know how great the quality and ambience is!

So, without further ado let me give you some feasting contenders….
