Food markets are my favourite place to go to in any destination I visit.
Especially when there’s a fabulous variety of delicious things to eat right there and then. Street food galore!
Victoria Park is a huge park in East London, full of lakes, fountains, and bordered by a canal. I’ve only explored a very small part of it, however, my favourite thing about Victoria Park is that it has a smashing market on a Sunday between 10 and 4. Stalls line the pedestrianised path that stretches across the park between Bonner Gate and Gore Gate selling an abundance of delicious products and dishes.
There are so many goodies to be had while wandering through the market, more than you can possibly try in one trip, but I can definitely recommend a few stalls to get you started.
A PIE PARTY makes fantastic pies and huge stuffed cookies. If they have it on the stall then definitely try the whisky pecan pie, it’s delectable. I want to go back and try some more of them! The Nutella stuffed cookies are also amazing – like a big fat chunky brownie – but I would have liked, obviously, more Nutella. Instagram
MELTSMITHS have the most delightful cheese toasties. Melted cheese a gift from the heavens so I was obviously drawn to them straight away. They do a couple of different options but mine was pure and simple – cheddar, mozzarella and onions. It didn’t need anything else – a perfect cheese toasty. Website
THE TOMATO STALL sells a wide variety of tomatoes from the Isle of Wight and all kinds of products made from them too! While I would have loved to take a punnet home with me, I just didn’t have the space, so I tried some of their tomato and chilli jam instead. It definitely had a kick, but the tomatoes were the star of the show in that jar! Website
THE CHEESE WHEEL are a stall I’ve been following for a while and I have been waiting for the opportunity to try their pasta. Why, might you ask, is pasta such a big deal. Well, they cook their pasta and then roll it around in a giant wheel of Grana Padano cheese. Oooooooh yes. And readers, it was just as good as you imagine it to be. Website
GALETA BAKERY is actually a recommendation on behalf of my mum. I picked up a gluten free salted caramel brownie for her from this bakery and she loved it! The cookies looked extremely yummy too….maybe next time! Website
CROSSTOWN DOUGHNUTS are a brand I’ve loved for a while now. They make a cracking doughnut and there are just so many flavours to choose from. Their market stall is slightly more limited than their shops, but they always have vegan options on offer, so there’s always something for everyone. Definitely grab one to walk around the market with, or pick one up for a treat later at home….! Website
Don’t just stop there though, as there are so many other places to buy things like veggies, bread, pasta, wine, beer, sauces, burgers, pizza and so much more. I would definitely suggest walking through a couple of times and then deciding on a place, or five, to grab something from. Then sit on the grass in the sunshine (fingers crossed) and enjoy your new discoveries!
It seems a little early to me, but Spring seems to have sprung in England!

Padella is a restaurant on the edge of Borough Market in London and they serve up some of the most exquisite pasta I have ever eaten.
Be prepared to wait a long old while to get a seat though, as they are super popular and it’s first come, first served. But it’s all completely worth it. I promise. Continue reading

You guys know how much I love Harry Potter and as promised I’m bringing you an updated Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour! There have been a number of new additions made since I first visited back in 2012 and I want to share those with you here.
In the UK, January has to be one of the worst months of the year. After the 6th, nothing is festive anymore and the days are dark and cold most of the time with not a fairy light in sight. It’s also the month where you have to wait the longest to be paid, so it’s always the time to tighten your belt, so to speak.
However, I think the best way to shake those January blues is to go and find something fun to do. And, let’s be honest, crazy golf (alongside good food and drink) is definitely fun – with a bit of competition thrown in for good measure.
I’ve been having a crazy month of Harry Potter bookings, so I’ve been totally in the wizarding mood to write this post this week. I’ve managed to get tickets for ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ in London next year, booked into the Harry Potter WB studio tour (again….see my original visit here) to catch up on the new additions and to see it all decked out for Christmas in December, and managed to get tickets for the ‘A History of Magic’ exhibit at the British Library that’s on from now until the end of February. This all makes me so happy.
Another fabulous Harry Potter style trip you can make in London is to the House of MinaLima.
