My British Summertime Essentials

This time next week, I will be basking in the glory of the English sunshine and I cannot wait.

There’s just something about the British summer that gives me all the joy. Plus, I’m managing to squeeze in the end of spring to my trip so all the spring flowers will still be in bloom. Happiness! Continue reading

A Day of Food in Paris

Paris is a wonderful city to visit, but it’s also a city that foodie dreams are made of. From flakey croissants, buttery baguettes and chocolate filled desserts, to creamy pate, cheese and confit duck. My list of places to visit when I come here is almost always made up of restaurants, cafes and bakeries, so inevitably I spend most of my days in Paris eating and drinking – which is never a bad thing.

Eight Places to Experience Peru’s Natural Beauty

I’ve been lucky enough to experience quite a lot of different locations and environments within Peru. The cities, both new and ancient, definitely have their charms, but this country is filled with so much natural beauty that just begs to be seen and explored and there is still so much for me to discover (the Amazon rainforest and the region of Cajamarca, to name just a couple).

In honour of Earth Day today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite areas of natural beauty here in Peru. Continue reading

24 Hours in Munich, Germany

Back in December I made my first ever trip to Germany, partly to visit the Christmas markets but partly just to spend time in one of Germany’s beautiful cities.

My Hot Cross Bun Addiction

It’s a real thing. I promise.

I literally cannot go an Easter without eating this beautiful invention. In Peru, you cannot find hot cross buns (along with Cadbury’s creme eggs and mini eggs), which makes me unbelievably sad, so I have my mum either bring them to me in Lima when she comes to visit or freeze them until I go home later in the year. The problem is real. Continue reading

Springtime at Anglesey Abbey

Spring has, supposedly, sprung in the Northern Hemisphere, although I feel like the Beast from the East might have some other ideas!

England in the springtime is so beautiful – for the most part – full of flowers and colour and life. One of my favourite things to do on a sunny spring day is to go and explore somewhere outdoors so I can completely experience the change in season. The National Trust has a ton of great properties and open spaces to wander around in, so visiting one of those is always a good choice, mainly considering the fact that you know there’ll be a great big slice of cake waiting for you at the cafe at the end. A reward for all that walking you’re going to do. Continue reading

New York, New York, what a wonderful town….

And wonderful it sure is, especially the food and drink scene. From fancy restaurants and rooftop bars to markets and traditional street food, New York City has it all. There is so much to be savoured and never enough time to try it all, so I thought I would share a few of my favourite finds from my most recent visit to the Big Apple.
