If you’ve been reading for a while, then you know how much of a huge fangirl I am of Harry Potter. I have been ever since I was at school and I still am now. In fact, if anything, I love it more than ever.
It literally fills me with joy when I get to experience something that was part of the books and/or films or the inspiration behind it, so imagine how I felt getting to visit an immersive replica of Diagon Alley, complete with shops, The Leaky Cauldron and a giant fire breathing dragon.
The Amalfi Coast is an amazing place to visit and Sorrento is a gem of a town whatever the time of year. In summer you have incredible weather, although crowded I imagine, and during the winter it’s cooler but easier to explore.

Santiago de Surco may not be the top foodie destination on everyone’s list (see Miraflores!), but it’s my local district and I’ve managed to find some great locations to eat, drink, shop and relax.
Surco is a very large district and therefore contains a huge variety of places to visit. It’s honestly a bit of a one stop shop for everything you could ever need! It also has some of the best green spaces in the district (apparently the district has won awards for its parks), and due to its location in the valley it even has the perfect climate to cultivate its own vineyards. Last month I headed over to Germany to fulfil my dream of visiting a traditional German Christmas market. I decided on Munich as my destination (there are so many markets throughout Germany) as it meant that I could also visit the gorgeous snow-topped Bavarian Alps whilst there.

As a child, I’m sure the space of time between the summer holidays was a never-ending year of school, but now as an adult that same space of time seems to last a nanosecond. I feel like I’m getting older way too fast! I have to say though, it may have been a quick year, but I made sure I packed it full. La Casa de Gloria is my absolute favourite place to eat when I’m in Punta Hermosa (one of the beach towns south of Lima), and to be honest I crave their food at least once a week. I’ve genuinely been begging my boyfriend for the last couple of weeks to drive us down so I can get my fix. Amsterdam is the most beautiful city and after spending 5 days there I can definitely say it’s one of the top places on my list of ‘places I want to live’. I highly recommend you take some time to visit Amsterdam, even if it’s just for a weekend. It’s absolutely stunning and you can spend hours just wandering the pretty streets and alongside the canals.
However, Amsterdam is so much more than its aesthetic. It’s full of culture and history (the Rijksmuseum is amazing and the Vondelpark is gorgeous), but it’s also jam packed with delicious places to eat and drink. The Dutch have a lot of specialties that you don’t often see outside of the Netherlands, and they also have some sublime versions of things that you can, so you genuinely have to try everything!

On Saturday mornings the BioFeria sets up on 15 de Enero, a road that runs alongside Parque Reducto No 2 in Miraflores. It’s an organic and eco market selling everything from fruit and veg to items made from Peruvian cotton.
There are dedicated fruit and veg stands where you can buy your weekly groceries, stands to buy different kinds of flours (purple corn, maca etc) and grains, stands for oils (sacha inchi, olive, coconut etc), and stands that sell wooden toys and cotton bags and clothing. It’s the place I go to buy proper oats as you only normally get the instant kind in the supermarket. I try and visit every few months and stock up on at least that! Continue reading
Maltby Street Market may be small but don’t underestimate how much food there is to be found here. You will absolutely need to make multiple trips here to try everything, or just bring a lot of friends to share with!
Normally I visit a location a fair few times before I write about it on here, just to make sure it really is as good as I think (Astrid & Gastón, Hanzo, Tanta), although there are special occasions like Lima Food Week or Lima Restaurant Week where I have shared some places that I had only visited once but think would be a good option to visit, especially with the one-off discount (Mayta, Malabar, La Nacional).
However, there have been occasions where I visit somewhere and I just know that I’ll keep going back to visit whenever I can. This happened to me a while ago with El Pan de la Chola, and now with Cafe de Lima. Continue reading
