Cambridge – 12 New Food Discoveries

Every time I go back home to Cambridge I love to visit my old favourites, obviously, but I also really enjoy trying new places and dishes too.

I always make a list of places that have opened that have tempted me to try, or recommendations from friends, or even places that are others’ tried and tested favourites that I haven’t had the chance to visit yet.

2018 was a good year of new food for me and although there was more than there is on this list, I’ve rounded it out to 12 of them. Plus, I’ve also added one of my boyfriend’s new favourites that he genuinely couldn’t get enough of while we were there. I’d like to say that a couple of these places are not new discoveries, but the dishes are and they just had to be shared. Continue reading

5 Things You Have To Do in Sorrento

The Amalfi Coast is an amazing place to visit and Sorrento is a gem of a town whatever the time of year. In summer you have incredible weather, although crowded I imagine, and during the winter it’s cooler but easier to explore.

I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days here back in December and here are my recommendations of places not to miss if you decide to take the trip yourself! Continue reading

District Edit – Santiago de Surco

Santiago de Surco may not be the top foodie destination on everyone’s list (see Miraflores!), but it’s my local district and I’ve managed to find some great locations to eat, drink, shop and relax.

Surco is a very large district and therefore contains a huge variety of places to visit. It’s honestly a bit of a one stop shop for everything you could ever need! It also has some of the best green spaces in the district (apparently the district has won awards for its parks), and due to its location in the valley it even has the perfect climate to cultivate its own vineyards. A Year in the Life – 2017

Is it just me or has this year whizzed by in a flash?

As a child, I’m sure the space of time between the summer holidays was a never-ending year of school, but now as an adult that same space of time seems to last a nanosecond. I feel like I’m getting older way too fast! I have to say though, it may have been a quick year, but I made sure I packed it full. I was determined this year to make the most of all the opportunities I came across and I think I did pretty well. Continue reading

The Foods You Have to Eat in Amsterdam (and Where to Find Them)

Amsterdam is the most beautiful city and after spending 5 days there I can definitely say it’s one of the top places on my list of ‘places I want to live’. I highly recommend you take some time to visit Amsterdam, even if it’s just for a weekend. It’s absolutely stunning and you can spend hours just wandering the pretty streets and alongside the canals.

However, Amsterdam is so much more than its aesthetic. It’s full of culture and history (the Rijksmuseum is amazing and the Vondelpark is gorgeous), but it’s also jam packed with delicious places to eat and drink. The Dutch have a lot of specialties that you don’t often see outside of the Netherlands, and they also have some sublime versions of things that you can, so you genuinely have to try everything!

I hope this little guide gives you a good starting point for your next trip to Amsterdam. Continue reading
