Wicks is an English pub in the heart of Lima brewing and serving up traditional British style beers and pub grub, and it truly makes me feel like I’m back at home.
There are so many places in Barranco that I still need to try, so this is actually a much smaller list than it should be. I have the longest checklist of places to visit but there just isn’t enough time to visit them all. We have some firm favourites here that we keep getting drawn back to time and again, and we forget to try new spots. Probably a good problem to have though! If you have any favourites, please let me know in the comments below.
This following guide partners with my list on Google Maps, ‘District Edit – Barranco’. It explains my choices in more detail and shares any extra information I may have posted before. Links for the different locations are available through the map and I hope this helps give you some inspiration for your next trip to Barranco.
This is the link to the map to check out my recommendations and their location – https://www.google.com/maps/placelists/list/1t_GeyL2BGCKXzHvct38_hPiqF3E
These locations have been added to the map in no particular order…
(Update July 2017 – Mo Café is no longer located here but if you want to try their food, you can follow their Facebook page to find out where they will be opening next!)
I love eating and tasting dishes from different places, so when I find a location that has multiple food places in one space, I am so happy!
Colonia & Co. is a great example of this and is located inside an old house in the heart of Barranco. It’s home to three different food spots, plus a bookshop and a clothes store all linked into one space.
Happy January everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and that you’re looking forward to a great 2017.
My family back in the UK have had some super cold, frosty days recently, while in contrast we’re experiencing the hottest January for 19 years I believe!! It’s crazy hot and humid and the only thing that makes it bearable is ice cream. A lot of ice cream!
My first trip to Ica this year was with my brother back in April, and we took the opportunity to do something super fun.
Last week I was sharing on Instagram some of my favourite photos from my little trip to Europe in January. It was basically a show of support for Europe and the EU in light of the referendum. I’m not going to discuss that awful outcome right now, because it makes me equally sad and angry, but I just wanted to share a little more Europe love with you all!!
I’ve been to Paris before so I’d already seen and been to some places, so this 24 hours was a mix of revisiting a few locations and finding some new favourites.
There is an amazing sight to behold in the Colca Valley.
Aside from the incredible landscapes, there is something else to steal your gaze.
This is a list of my recommendations of some of the best things to try in Cambridge.
Cambridge is my home-sweet-home, and I honestly have been thoroughly spoilt by the fact that I have grown up in this extraordinarily beautiful and picturesque city. I took it for granted until I went to University and then realised what a gem I had been living in. I highly recommend you visit, even if just for the day; it is so worth it to take the trip up from London. There is actually so much to see and do here, and you will find yourself enamoured with it.
Friends and family have also given me their best bits and I have taken all of this information and compiled a list. Think of it as a reference page, that will grow over time (as I find more and more to do…and eat), to give you an idea of where to start if you want to take a trip to one of the most beautiful cities in Great Britain.
When we travel to the North of Peru by car we always make a pitstop just outside of Trujillo at a little beach town called Huanchaco.
OK so here’s the deal.
I love Harry Potter. The books, the films, the whole shebang.
When I found out a couple of years ago that there was going to be a Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour in London, I just had to go. So my mum, the wonderful human being that she is, took me for a surprise visit.
My trip was not long after the studio tour first opened, but that was back in 2012 before some other parts and props were brought in and added to the already vast collection (read: THE REAL HOGWARTS EXPRESS!!!). However, the overall tour is pretty much exactly the same now as it was then, so let me share my gallery of Harry Potter wonder so that you will all be extremely excited and go and visit for yourselves!
The studio tour is located right next door to where they actually filmed all of the Harry Potter films. Two soundstages and also a backlot have been filled with props, costumes and sets from the movies. From tiny items like coins from Gringotts to huge pieces such as the Dursley’s house on Privet Drive.
Now I’ve been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Florida, which is utterly amazing, but being around the props and sets that were made and designed as close to the books’ descriptions as possible is really, really awesome. Probably even better in fact.
I don’t want to rave on about every single thing in every single photo, because obviously it is all incredible, so I’ll just give a brief explanation of some of the photos and add any extra information I think might be necessary. And maybe I’ll get excited every now and again…but I’ll try and stay on topic!
Think of this as an illustrative post, rather than as a written one. After all, a picture tells a thousand words.
So hold on to your ‘portkey’ and let me transport you to the world of Harry Potter…
