If you don’t have time in the day at the moment for a full blown Christmas film but you still need a festive shot, then look no further than YouTube. Bite size snippets of Christmas in the forms of both vlogs and static videos means that you don’t have to go without. Plus, there is so much content to choose from. To help you out, I’ve picked a few of my British favourites, with a brief description, that really help to give me my daily Christmas fix from back home!
Zoella (and Pointless Blog)
The Queen of Christmas vlogging and videos is undoubtedly Zoe Sugg. She uploads an actual video every day in December until Christmas on her main channel, including Christmas hauls, fashion & make-up, fun quizzes & games, and recipes. Plus she also vlogs every day (‘Vlogmas’ on her vlog channel) until Christmas too, so you can see what festive things she gets up to day to day. If you want to see even more of what her and her family and friends get up to you can also watch her boyfriend Alfie’s daily vlog channel (Pointless Blog Vlogs) for another point of view. Zoe does a lot of festive activities throughout December but even when she’s just chilling in her house, it’s ridiculously Christmassy in decor, plus her huge selection of Christmas jumpers and pyjamas are just going to leave you with a massive case of Christmas clothing envy!
So many yummy Christmas recipes from the owner of Crumbs and Doilies bakery in London. This year she’s doing the ’12 Bakes of Christmas’ and so far we’ve seen videos like Christmas Truffles and Mince Pie Bars. She also has a great selection of Christmas jumpers, which is obviously super important. Once you’ve discovered her channel, you’ll want to watch the videos all year to see her make a number of delicious bakes including some of the products they sell in the bakery and even behind the scenes sneak peeks!
My absolute favourite YouTube couple both vlog during Christmas on their separate channels. Tanya is the most excited person about Christmas and therefore has a whole load of festive fun planned for her ‘Vlogmas’ days including markets, parties, wreath making, tree buying and decorating, and even skiing this year. I absolutely love watching her blogs as her Christmas joy is just so infectious.
Jim vlogs every so often during December on his vlog channel and he’s quite funny to watch and does some amusing Christmas videos too. We’ve had a ‘Baking with Jim’ yule log and a gingerbread house construction kit with Zoella, which have both been a lot of fun to watch!
Jamie Oliver’s brainchild, Food Tube, is packed full of Christmas recipes from this year, and previous years too, from different chefs and cooks including Jamie himself. Plus, on Christmas Eve for the past two years, Jamie has done a live show (skip forward 15mins to the start!) which follows him prepping for his Christmas lunch the following day whilst answering Christmas cooking queries with his team, his kids and Gennaro!
Fleur also partakes in ‘Vlogmas’ on her vlog channel, but it’s actually her gift guides on her main channel that I really enjoy. She makes a guide for everyone, whatever their budget. From ridiculously expensive candles and advent calendars to fun little stocking fillers and budget beauty buys, there’s a little something for all.
I hope you enjoyed this little selection of favourites, but if none of these tickle your fancy then there are so many other YouTubers to choose from, from all around the world. I just love that I can tune in and out of YouTube throughout the day when I get a chance and I can feel Christmassy at all times!
Merry Christmas xxx
PS Don’t you love these gingerbread men?! I made a little banner on Canva, an amazing website for social media designs, and I love it!
